Douglaston Little Neck Library to Host Art Gallery, Japanese Monsters Program in June

The library will also hold a rally to save borough chapters on June 13.

The Douglaston Little Neck Library’s June roster of programs includes an art gallery, a rally to save borough libraries and a sign language course.

Sign, Read and Play will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 5. This program, which is led by certified American Sign Language Instructor Jacqueline Ciaramella, incorporates storytelling and sign language. The class includes songs, stories and activities for children, ages 3 and below.

There will be a rally to save Queens libraries at the Douglaston chapter, which is located at 249-01 Northern Blvd. in Little Neck, on June 13 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Elected officials representing northeast Queens will be at the rally between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

On June 19, the library will host “Kowai: Stories About Japanese Monsters for Teens” at 4 p.m.

The library will hold an opening reception for a gallery of local artwork from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on June 21.

And John Green’s “The Fault in Our Stars” will be the topic of discussion during Anna’s Book Discussion at 6 p.m. on June 26.

The library will also offer its regular monthly programs, including its English conversation class, which will be held at 1 p.m. on June 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Knitting and crocheting club will begin at 4 p.m. on June 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Mother Goose Time will take place at 11:15 a.m. on June 17 and 24, while Twilight Tales Time will kick off at 5:45 p.m. on June 20 and 27.

The library will offer its AARP driver safety class at 11 a.m. on June 7 and 14.
