Bayside Historical Society To Host Genealogy Event, Civil War Reenactment
Both events will be held at the castle in Fort Totten.
The Bayside Historical Society will host a genealogy basics event and a Civil War reenactment this month.
The genealogy basics class will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 16. The event, which is free for historical society members and $5 for everyone else, will be hosted by cultural anthropologist Barbara Bianco.
The Civil War reenactment will be led by Peter Ridout, a Cardozo High School teacher and member of the 124th New York Volunteer Civil War Reenactors, from noon to 3 p.m. on May 19.
The encampment will be set up near the castle in Fort Totten.
