The will invite northeast Queens residents to step back in time to the Victorian and Civil War eras during two events in September.
The historical society, which is located at 208 Totten Ave. in , will host "A Step Back in Time - Kids Space," a walk-in workshop, on Sept. 16 from noon to 2 p.m.
"The new kids space is a year old, so we'll be hosting a hands-on event with activities and games from the Victorian Era," said Alison McKay, the society's exhibit coordinator and archivist.
Children, ages 5 and up, will be able to take part in games and crafts from the era as well as play with toys from that time period, such as Jacob's Ladders, an old fashioned telephone, tea set, thaumatropes and puzzles.
On Sept. 30, the historical society will host "The Man in the Red Battle Shirt: The Life and Times of General A.P. Hill," during which re-enactor, historian and researcher Patrick Falci will portray the legendary figure.
Falci portrayed the general in the 1993 film "Gettysburg."
"He'll come in looking like someone out of the 1860s Civil War era and he'll describe Hill's life and times," McKay said.

Children will pay $5 for "A Step Back in Time" workshop, while prices for the General A.P. Hill event will be $8 for members and $12 for non-members.
