APEC Welcomes Wolf, Birds of Prey [PHOTOS]

Check out these snap shots of Alley Pond Environmental Center's weekend visitors.

This past weekend, drew hundreds of northeast Queens residents to two events during which visitors had up close and personal experiences with and an arctic gray wolf named Atka.

The bird program included an interactive program with live hawks, falcons and owls. Attendees witnessed a flight demonstration and learned about why the birds hunted various species and how they survived in their environments.

The arctic gray wolf was brought in from South Salem’s Wolf Conservation Center.
