Welcome to About Town, Douglaston-Little Neck Patch’s one-stop post for all of the events, meetings, top stories and other important information you need to know about for the upcoming week.

Meetings

Community Board 11 will hold its next meeting on May 7 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of Bayside’s M.S. 158.

Community District Education Council 26 will meet on May 2 at 7 p.m. at M.S. 74 in Little Neck. Students from local schools will put on a ballroom dance performance during the meeting.

Events

On Monday, there will be a dinner sponsored by the at Bayside’s Bourbon Street to .

The Douglaston Little Neck Library will offer its weekly that day as well.

The Samuel Field Y will host a workshop titled “” on Wednesday.

City Councilman Mark Weprin, D-Oakland Gardens, will host a Wednesday evening that will include discussion on property taxes and foreclosure.

On Thursday, comedian will perform at Douglaston’s .

The Udalls Cove Preservation Committee will host its on Saturday. The event will also include the debut of , a site in Udalls Cove where local residents can watch birds and fish.

The Bayside-Whitestone Lions Club will on Francis Lewis Boulevard on Saturday.

The Deepdale Pool will host open houses on Saturday and Sunday. Regular pool season begins after Memorial Day.
