Community Update

Six of us went out for dinner at the Bayside La Bottega in the winter of 2012. We will not return for the following four reasons:

1. We were seated in the rear large dining area where it was extremely cold and wound up having to put our jackets/coats back on when the restaurant staff was unable to turn up the heat. We were told that the thermostat was turned up to the highest temperature;

2. Many of the entrees on the menu we ordered were no longer available that evening - apparently they did not plan properly for the dinner crowd;

3. The service was extremely slow despite most of the tables being empty; and,

4. Finally, when I ordered coffee, the milk they served was spoiled. When I showed our waiter the cup of coffee with the bad milk in it and asked for a fresh cup of coffee with unspoiled milk, the waiter responded, "But the milk was just bought yesterday." We were all pretty upset after that remark and I told him that we didn't care when they bought the milk (obviously they either left the milk unrefrigerated too long or it was bad when they bought it) I just wanted a fresh cup of coffee with unspoiled milk. We asked for the manager at that point because our waiter appeared to be having a hissy fit.

When the manager came to our table, we explained our latest problem and she apologized profusely and had someone in the staff go out and buy milk from one of the stores on Bell Blvd and I eventually had my coffee.

Perhaps that was just a bad night over a year ago? Maybe, but there are plenty of other options for us on Bell Blvd without the need to return.
