The new Children's Library Discovery Center, adjacent to the Central Library in Jamaica, is open for fun, discovery and learning.
The new Children's Library Discovery Center, adjacent to the Central Library in Jamaica, is open for fun, discovery and learning. Yes, it's a terrific children's library, and yes, it has computers and books and friendly library staff. In addition, it also has more than a dozen "discovery plazas," which are hands-on interactive exhibits where young people can experiment with science and technology concepts. For instance, children will enjoy generating their own electricity and exploring fossils.

The Children's Library Discovery Center is always free and is open whenever the Central Library is open: 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday; 1 p.m. - 9 p.m. on Tuesday; 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on Saturday and noon - 5 p.m. on Sunday (except holidays).
It is located at 89-11 Merrick Boulevard, 1-1/2 blocks south of Hillside Ave. and 1-1/2 blocks north of Jamaica Ave. For more information, go to www.queenslibrary.org.
