The Douglaston Garden Club in Conjunction with New York City Parks Deparment will be hosting a park clean up and planting day which will include an old fashioned Bake Sale run by The Douglaston Garden Club, a pumpking decorating area hosted by The PS98PTA, an art exhibit put on by The National Art League of Douglaston, and an active participation Yoga Class run by Marlene's Studio. Obviously, it…Read More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.

And this..., just as we were beginning to enjoy the Long Island wines and the $34 per pound skirt steak, ordered two months in advance.
