This Tuesday, The Douglaston Garden Club was busy cresting floral designs to beautify the Little Neck Nursing Home.

This annual tradition is organized by Carolyn Brink and Helen Im.  Other Members participating included Joan Carol Brenner, Nelly Pacheco, Pat Vey Voda, Chizuko Sievers, Mary Tobacco and Lorraine Hinchey.

Obviously, it…Read More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.
