Watch Out for Gridlock

Expect gridlock on these 8 dates.

Most New Yorkers are sharp enough to know that the days before Thanksgiving and Christmas mean heavy traffic. In case you're new around town, The Department of Transportation has issued an advisory of several more days between Thanksgiving and Christmas that constitute 'Gridlock Alert Days.' Counterintuitively, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day are not included on the list.

The city encourages the use of mass transit on the following days:

Wednesday, November 23

Wednesday, November 30

Friday, December 9

Thursday, December 15

Friday, December 16

Wednesday, December 21

Thursday, December 22

Friday, December 23

Obviously, it…Read More did not receive the support of the community, at least not enough to make it a successful venture. This is sad. Every Sunday, rain or shine, I would stop at the market and purchase something. My favorite was the bakery stand. Often, when I stopped in the afternoon I would get two FREE French breads with my purchase. Parking was never a problem. The vendors where friendly and very informative. It was a perfect setting for the picturesque nature of this community. Too bad it is not returning.
