St. Mary's Hosts Fundraising Initiative with 30 Local Businesses

All funds raised will go toward rehabilitative programs at the Bayside hospital.

St. Mary’s Healthcare System for Children is holding a fundraising initiative with more than 30 local businesses through the end of this year that will raise money for the Bayside hospital’s rehabilitative services.

The hospital’s campaign – St. Mary’s Kids Day: A Season of Possibilities – will involve a number of promotions, fundraising drives, sale donations, in-kind donations and aawreness building efforts via social media.

All money received through the initiative will go toward the intensive rehabilitation, specialized care and education programs at St. Mary’s.

“We are very grateful for the commitment and generosity of our supporters who signed on for St. Mary’s Kids Day to raise funds and build awareness for the critical work and specialized programs taking place at St. Mary’s,” said Edwin Simpser, the hospital’s interim president and CEO.

Local businesses involved in the intiative include Cord Meyer Development, Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Bayside High School Key Club, Martin A. Gleason Funeral Homes, Bayside Milk Farm, Little Neck Douglaston Youth Club, Bayside Village Business Improvement District and Remix Fitness.

Upcoming events to support the initiative include a fundraiser at Bayside Milk Farms, an in-store promotion at Five Guys, a holiday event titled “A Day with Santa” at the Bay Terrace Shopping Center and a free day of tanning at Beach Bum Tanning.

Those interested in participating in the initiative should call the individual businesses that are involved.

St. Mary's is the only post-acute care facility for children with life-limiting conditions in the five boroughs.
