Photos: Police Bring Toys, Holiday Spirit to St. Mary's Kids

Patients at Bayside hospital visited by NYPD for Christmas party.

Members of several units from the city's Police Department dropped by St. Mary's Healthcare System for Children this week to get the Bayside hospital's patients into the holiday spirit.

Officers and detectives from the NYPD's Emergency Services, Mounted, K-9 and Highway Patrol units visited the center on Wednesday, bringing toys, treats and a number of police-themed collectables, such as hats, badges, stickers and buttons.

Children at the hospital learned about the mounted unit's work and were able to pet Panco the horse as well as meet Wyatt, a dog from the K-9 unit. The kids also climbed into the driver's seat of the emergency services unit's truck.

St. Mary's, located at 29-01 216th St. in Bayside, serves children who are battling complex medical and life-limiting conditions due to serious illness, injury or complications of premature birth.
