Douglaston Green Market to Host Cooking Demonstrations

Attendees can learn how to make ratatouille, Italian cuisine during upcoming events.

Douglaston's green market will host cooking demonstrations by the market's manager and the chef of a popular local Italian eatery during the next two weeks.

On Sept. 30, manager Ashley Rafalow will whip up some ratatouille made up of local ingredients.

Alex Privilegi, of Douglaston's Il Toscano Restaurant, will host a demonstration during which he will show attendees how to cook several Italian recipes on Oct. 7.

And, on Oct. 14, the market will host Harvest Portraits, during which families can have their picture snapped amid the community's scenic autumn setting.

The green market is located in the traffic circle of Douglaston's Long Island Rail Road station. It is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. every Sunday through Nov. 18.
