Community Cleanup of Lawrence Cemetery

Join the community to clean up Lawrence Cemetery and maintain one of Bayside's most well-known landmarks in mint condition. Assemblyman Edward C. Braunstein (D-Bayside) and the Bayside Historical Society will sponsor the clean up for local residents and volunteers.

The cemetery originated as property granted to John and William Lawrence in 1645 as part of a patent from Dutch Governor Keift of New Amsterdam. Burials occurred from 1832 until 1939. The cemetery was declared a landmark in 1967.

The rain date is Saturday Oct. 29 at 10 a.m.
