Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club will hold its Annual Club Closet Tag Sale on Saturday, April 13 and Sunday, April 14 with an exclusive Preview Night on Friday, April 12 (Note, there is a $10 admission fee to shop on Preview Night). Betsy Gibbs, owner of Worth Repeating in Locust Valley, voted by Newsday as one of their favorite Consignments Shops on Long Island, will chair this year’s Sale.
“I am honored to be asked to do something that comes very natural to me – running a sale and giving back to the community. My parents, Dr. Stanley and Emily Gibbs were both philanthropists and I am thrilled to be following in their footsteps and helping the children of the community where I was raised and still live. I am so excited about this year’s Club Closet Tag Sale and I hope in some small way, my participation in this event will encourage others to get involved as well,” said Betsy Gibbs.

The Club Closet Tag Sale offers an eclectic array of goods and products to please all types of shoppers from antiques for the avid collector, unique pieces for those on the hunt for that special one-of-a-kind find, designer clothing for the fashionista, and of course, steals and deals for the bargain hunter.
A vintage Dhuri Rug, timeless estate silver pieces, classic Waterford crystal and a rare Butler’s tray table were just a few of the noteworthy items sold at last year’s Club Closet Tag Sale. Discerning shoppers can browse for home furnishings and accent pieces, textiles and rugs, crystal, glass and tableware, kitchen appliances and accessories, holiday and seasonal décor, high end designer apparel, and jewelry and accessories. What will not be on the sales floor are books, children’s clothing, toys, televisions, outdated electronics, computers or monitors. To maintain the Club Closet Tag Sale treasure trove distinction, the Club does not accept these items for donation.
A sneak-peek of goodies going on sale at this year’s event include a beautiful “Bedknob and Broomsticks” style antiqued brass headboard and footboard, suits by Christian Dior and Giorgio Armani and several designer handbags.
The Club Closet Tag Sale is held annually to help raise much needed funds for the Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club, servicing more than 700 children and teens from the Glen Cove community. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the Club’s programs and initiatives.
Glen Cove Boys & Girls Club at Lincoln House has been serving the community since 1903 by providing a safe and caring environment to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential as productive and responsible citizens. The Club serves more than 700 youths, ages 6 to 18, in the Glen Cove community with a variety of after school programs in education, sports and recreation, dance, technology and art, all designed to enrich and enhance learning and build self-esteem.
