Tuesday

Austin Shafran, of the state’s Empire Development Agency, announced his bid for Halloran’s seat. And Mayor Michael Bloomberg called on the state to enact his large soda ban.

Wednesday

Smoking Aces Bistro will replace Strawberry’s Sports Grill in Douglaston. The Bayside Historical Society will host a women’s history month exhibit and art classes.

The MTA’s new fees and tolls go into effect this weekend.

Thursday

Queens activist Paul Graziano also jumps into the primary to challenge Halloran.

Friday
