Week In Review

It was a busy week in Douglaston.

State Assemblyman David Weprin, D-Little Neck, was picked by the Democrats to run for former U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner's seat and the neighborhood's long-awaited Fairway Market received its building permit.

This morning, the Douglaston Green Market debuted at the traffic circle in the Village's Long Island Rail Road station.

Patch kicked off a new feature known as Day Tripper this week that will include profiles of neighborhoods in the five boroughs. Readers will get recommendations on cultural institutions and places to eat in the selected communities.

And Douglaston Patch posted a profile of Douglaston's National Art League.
