U.S. Rep. Gary Ackerman, D-Bayside, said he will introduce a bill that would cut highway funds to states that give money earned through vanity license plates to partisan political organizations. The legislation would follow in the wake of the Arizona State Legislature's approval of a license plate featuring the Gadsden Flag, which has become a symbol of the Tea Party.
