It was another busy week for news in Douglaston. 

Early in the week, the top stories included a piece on how the state budget deal would affect senior centers, education and other local services as well as an article on Mayor Michael Bloomberg's skepticism about Census numbers for the five boroughs.

The Community Church of Douglaston held a prayer service for victims of the earthquake in Japan, while state Sen. Toby Stavisky, D-Flushing, introduced a bill that would put condominiums and co-ops in the same tax class as single family homes.
