A Bayside man pleaded guilty to his role in an identity theft scheme, while P.S. 203 held its annual Lunar New Year celebration.

Monday

The city’s Department of Transportation placed benches along Bell Boulevard as part of an ongoing streetscape project in the community. Reviews in This Week at the Movies included “Bullet to the Head” and “Warm Bodies.”

Tuesday

CB 11 discussed a dangerous intersection in Douglaston as well as an ongoing fight against a LaGuardia Airport flight pattern at its monthly meeting. The board also heard from a Bayside woman who wants the city to rename a street after her son, an emergency responder who died during the Sept. 11, 2011 terrorist attacks and was originally falsely identified as a terrorist.

Also, a Bayside girl raised money via her birthday party to the give to the American Cancer Society and a man from the neighborhood pleaded guilty to his role in a stolen identity scheme.

Wednesday

The United States Postal Service announced that it would halt Saturday mail delivery. P.S. 203 held its annual Lunar New Year celebration, which included Chinese and Korean song and dance numbers.

A woman was listed in critical condition after being struck by a Long Island Rail Road train near Douglaston’s station. And take a look at the 111th Precinct’s crime statistics for January.

Thursday

The Bayside Historical Society planned a Valentine’s Day-themed jazz brunch for Feb. 10.

Friday
