It was a busy week for planning events in the community.

Project HEAL, a local nonprofit aimed at helping young women with eating disorders, prepared for its upcoming benefit brunch, while Douglaston's Local Development Corporation and Chamber of Commerce announced that a renowned urban planner who specializes in downtown revitalizations would visit the Community Church of Douglaston for an event next week.

Police busted up a Queens-based identity theft ring and arrested 111 of its alleged members and a local medium made national headlines.
