This Week in Little Neck Gas Prices
Week-to-week citywide gas prices spike 15 cents due to ongoing Mideast political crisis
What started as a gradual increase in the cost of gasoline, with week-to-week increases of a fraction of a cent, has begun to really gain speed thanks to continued political uncertainty in oil producing regions of the Middle East.
The average price of gas across the city rose 15 cents over last week, according the American Automobile Association's Fuel Gauge Report.
As motorists get more choosy about which gas stations to patronize as prices continue to spike, oil companies are starting to ramp up customer loyalty programs, such as BP's Thank You Days — which includes a $10 gift card for every fifth fill up.
