Samuel Field Y Will Host Programs to Help Job Seekers, Kids with Autism

The Y will hold its annual fundraiser at Bourbon Street next week and career-oriented workshops next month.

The is hosting upcoming workshops to help children with autism and job seekers.

On April 23, the Y is holding its annual fundraiser at Bayside’s Bourbon Street, located at 40-12 Bell Blvd., to help support its programs for children with autism.

To make reservations, call the restaurant at 718-224-2200. And remember to mention the Samuel Field Y when making the reservation and a portion of your bill will be donated.

The Y will also take part in The Briefcase Project on May 1 at the Sid Jacobson Jewish Community Center, located at 300 Forest Drive in East Hills.

The event will focus on career empowerment for women and include workshops on how to dress for success and land job interviews.

Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the event will run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Attendees will learn about social media and networking, resume building and cover letter writing and business wardrobe as well as take part in mock interviews.

On May 16, the Y’s Connect to Care program is taking part in a career workshop at the Forest Hills’s Central Queens Y, located at 67-09 108th St.

The event will include a discussion on maximizing your job search from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and a job fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
