Pick Up A Book, Pass It Around

Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday March 2 by joining book lovers, your local school and public library for Read Across America day.

The Queens Public Library will take part in the annual Read Across America day this afternoon.

This year, the National Education Association, a group of more than 3.2 million educators who work to improve public schools, is calling on book lovers around the nation to take up "The Lorax," Dr. Seuss' popular 1971 children's book about the lovable creature who fights to save the environment.

Between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m., the Queens Public Library will celebrate Read Across America at its Hollis branch, which is located at 202-05 Hillside Ave.
