Snow Piles Up In Douglaston

The first major snowfall of the season is upon us — and it's a doozy.

The National Weather Service predicts up to 20 inches of the white stuff before it's all over early Monday. 

To get you prepared, check back with Patch for a list of closings, suspensions, tips about staying warm and, in an issue of importance for those living with children, or those who merely act like them, keeping busy while trapped indoors by the snow.

Most importantly however, is the call by local and state authorities to stay indoors and avoid travel except when absolutely necessary.
