Patch Pets: Double Takes

Two adults cats looking for a new home together

This week for Patch Pets we're featuring a dynamic duo named BB and Ophelia.

A pair of double adoption adult cats, whose owner passed away a month ago, they were brought into North Shore Animal League America as part of the Safe Haven Program.

Safe Haven, a service offered to all pet owners, guarantees a pet access to food, water and shelter until the Animal League can find the pet a loving home after an owner is unable to care for them.

"It's a way for people to ensure their pets are taken care of and placed in a good home after they [the owner] passes away," said Eric Leiberman, who works for "Safe Haven" at the Animal League.

And a good home is exactly what these two cats deserve.

"They have been together for over 3 years and their owner wanted to make sure they found a loving home that will take them both," said Anthony Angioletti, shelter manager at North Shore Animal League America.

"Sweet and affectionate these cats will just love to lay in your lap as you watch TV," he said — stressing the pair warms up to people "quick."
