Patch Asks: How Do You Feel About Cell Phones in Subway Stations?

The MTA officially kicked off cell phone and WiFi service in some Manhattan subway stations. Is this a good thing? You tell us.

Wednesday marks the first day that cell phone service and WiFi are available at six subway stations in Manhattan.

Though Queens straphangers will likely have to wait some time before service expands to the outer boroughs, the idea of cell phone use at train stations is a potentially mixed blessing: Maybe trolling the internet will supplant other, less savory activities like nail trimming, but what about the loud, shouting cell phone conversations that will suddenly be everywhere?

What do you think? Are you happy that descending into the subway means no longer having to disconnect? Or do you dread the day when you will invariably be stuck on a crowded platform next to the guy loudly sharing his colonoscopy results? Tell us in the comments.
