Patch Asks: Are You Ready for the Winter?

Will surprise October snow shower act as an incentive to start preparing for an early winter?

Residents across the five boroughs may have viewed yesterday's pre-Halloween snow shower as more of a trick than a treat.

Central Park was covered by three inches of snow and an estimated 15,000 Con Edison customers lost power during the storm, NY 1 reported. Temperatures hovered in the 30s for much of the day.

Patch wants to know: Will the Oct. 29 snowstorm encourage you to dig out the heavier jackets, boots, shovels and other winter gear earlier to prepare for the upcoming winter?
