Bayside's P.S. 203 held its annual Lunar New Year performance on Wednesday afternoon in the school's auditorium.
More than 800 students took part in the Year of the Snake celebration, which included a Chinese dragon dance, Suzuki violin, Korean dance of the dolls, Lunar New Year songs, a Korean fan dance, Kamishibai storytelling, a Chinese ribbon dance and a Korean farmers' dance.
Attendees at the event included city Comptroller John Liu and state Assembly members Edward Braunstein, D-Bayside, and Nily Rozic, D-Fresh Meadows.
Voula Angelidakis, who helped coordinate the program, said the school has been hosting a Lunar New Year performance for at least 20 years.
"It gets the kids immersed in Chinese and Korean culture," she said. "They all love it."
