Nov. 16: Rumblings

Last night's discontent regarding traffic changes at Little Neck Parkway lingers

At Little Neck Patch, we're here to bring you the news and information you need — along with events hopefully a bit more popular than city Department of Transportation planners at last night's monthly Westmoreland Association meeting:

1. What last night's neighborhood meeting at lacked in terms of surprising developments, it made up for in the amount of complaints aired by fed-up motorists, pedestrians and residents angry about recently-instituted traffic rule changes at Little Neck Parkway and Sandhill Road.

2. Later today, check out our expose on the 80th Fall Members' Exhibition at the , including an interview with NAL's curator and information about the services this neighborhood institution offers. Also, lots and lots of images of the art on display.

3. My column, Just Business, which last week focused on the area's , today focuses on the world of banking and finance — in particular, how it affects the investments and savings of Little Neck residents and business owners.

4. For those who didn't think you could do yoga at work or while sitting at the kitchen table, event organizers at the branch of the Queens Public Library will be on hand  to prove you wrong. Remember, pre-registration is required. Also, participants are encouraged to attend a Nov. 30 session as well.

5. And attention wannabe thespians: Theater by the Bay is holding an open audition tonight at 7:30 in Bayside for "Annie," based on the popular comic strip. The troupe is looking for men, women and children for speaking, singing and dancing roles.
