Heavy rain continues for a second day across region

Happy Wednesday, Little Neck! It looks like we're in for a protracted period of wet weather this week. However, residents should hold off on building that Ark, for now, at least: sunny skies are expected to fully take hold Sunday.

Here are your 5 Things for today:

1. A flood watch remains in effect for the five boroughs and Long Island due to a stationary storm expected to drop another one-and-a-half to two-and-a-half inches of rain on the region.

3. Nine city high schools received a reprieve from the chopping block. However, that list does not include Jamaica High School, the site of and other rallies after it was announced this year that the educational mainstay would close its doors forever in June.
