A soggy start to what promises to be a stormy week

Good morning, Little Neck! Remember to pack that umbrella since it looks like it's going to be a washout today, tomorrow and into the end of the week. 

1. Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, joined his Queens colleagues from City Hall to demand more details about plans to shutter 20 fire companies across the five boroughs. Halloran is worried that the closures will increase response times even in areas spared from direct cuts. 

2. A Douglaston man is showing some northeast Queens Mets pride with this line of custom-made Amazins regalia, including a T-shirt that reads, "Don't Trade Reyes." Agreed.
