1. Gov. Andrew Cuomo struck a deal on a $132.5 billion 2011-12 state budget with legislative leaders Sunday, cutting spending for the first time in over a decade.

3. On Sunday, State Sen. Tony Avella, D-Bayside, and Assemblyman David Weprin, D-Little Neck, rallied to stop BSA approval for the subdivision of a Bayside Hills property into two tax lots for the purpose of building a second single family home. The application was  at a Community Board 11 meeting earlier this month. 

4. The Community Church of Douglaston will hold a prayer service for the people of Japan on Thursday at 7 p.m. All are invited to come and join the community in support.

5. Alternate side parking rules are in effect today
