No sign of quick warmup ahead, even as we head into April

Even though the temperatures still scream February, things are definitely starting to heat up out there, folks. Whether it's at Alley Pond Environmental Center or at Queensborough Community College's Performing Arts Center, there are plenty of happenings in the nabe to get the heart pumping.

1. A surprise Department of Motor Vehicles inspection of charter buses leaving and arriving in College Point yielded 57 violations, including bad tires and inoperable emergency exits, according to Councilman Peter Koo, R-Flushing, and Assemblywoman Grace Meng, D-Flushing.
