Plain old rain expected for the rest of the day

Happy Thursday, Little Neck!

Get ready to brush off your windshield of snow this morning. Last night and early this morning, about an inch of the white stuff fell, according to the National Weather Service. Later today, forecasters predict the icy conditions will change to rain for the rest of the day — and we hope, for the rest of the season as well.

1. Despite opposition from Councilman Dan Halloran, R-Whitestone, as well as a few other members of the Queens delegation at City Hall, a bill to rename the Queensborough/59th Street Bridge after Ed Koch easily passed in a vote Wednesday.
