Connecting with nature as winter turns hesitatingly to spring

Good morning, Little Neck! It's "in like a lamb" so far across the region, with a fairly quiet weather pattern continuing until at least the end of the week. Here's to hoping that this notoriously changeable month doesn't decide to flip itself and offer up the lion at the end of March (fingers are crossed!).

Here are your 5 Things for today:

1. Queens firefighters made a rare find yesterday in Woodside: a Cooper's hawk, which, according to this story in the New York Daily News, is more rare than its red-tailed cousin. Suffering from a broken wing, FDNY hopes to put this hardy city bird back on the mend.
