Closings, and threat of closings, punctuate busy week for neighborhood
If one had to hang a sign on this week in Little Neck, it would read: 'Closed.'
The workweek began with the , and with the hanging like a dark cloud over Community Church of Little Neck.
But as in many things, this week also proved that hope springs eternal, especially for those video game enthusiasts out there at Roosevelt Field Mall. (Correction, 7:30 p.m.: I've been informed by reader davescott2008 that the nearest GameStop is in the Lake Success Shopping Center just east of Lakeville Road on Union Turnpike).

Really though, the week did end with some very good news for the future of a neighborhood landmark, with the 19th century-era Community Church of Little Neck courtesy of a just-closed land sale.
