Little Neck Week In Review

Momentous events both abroad and here at home

It was what anyone would call a busy week in and around Little Neck.

For starters, nine years, seven months and 20 days after the Sept. 11 attacks, a special attachment of Navy SEALS — putting an abrupt end to one of the largest manhunts in history.

And perhaps paling in its world impact, but no less important to thousands of co-op shareholders and condo owners throughout the city — including many in northeast Queens — was an agreement to cap tax assessment increases at 10 percent.

Obtained after a with city Department of Finance commissioner David Frankel, the Co-op Presidents Council vowed to keep up the fight to maintain fairness and accountability regarding the assessments.
