Little Neck Week In Review

Anger, frustration boils over at co-op shareholder meeting over property taxes

It was a week that ended with plenty of anger here in Little Neck, with residents of Deepdale Gardens and Beech Hills cooperatives to say something approximating a famous line from a film directed by one of New York's most accomplished filmmakers:

"I'm mad as hell... and I'm not going to take it anymore!"

Moviegoers of a certain age will recognize this quote as coming from the lips of Howard Beale, the TV newscaster-turned-prophet in the film, "Network," directed by Sidney Lumet, who died April 9 at age 86.
