Library Offers Winter Classes for Douglaston, Little Neck Residents

Northern Boulevard Branch to Hold Chess Club, Crocheting Group in New Year

The Queens Library at Douglaston/Little Neck has a great schedule of programs this winter.

Northeast Queens residents can enrich their lives with basic computer skills workshops every Monday at 10:00 a.m., while the library's Chess Club for children and teens ages 8 to 18 years meets every Monday at 4:30 p.m..

Beginning in February, the very popular knitting and crocheting group will meet on Tuesdays at 4:30 p.m.. All skill levels are invited, from expert to beginner.

The Douglaston/Little Neck library is ready, willing and able to meet students' needs. It is the launching pad for successful reports and research on African American heroes, which will be helpful as January's Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day approaches.

Eighth-graders working on exit projects will find plenty of help from our staff. Your library is Science Fair Central. College students home on break for the holidays can bring their laptops or smart phones and enjoy the free unlimited wireless access.

"We want all our customers to have the best library experience possible," said Ron Wan, who is the community library manager for Douglaston and Little Neck. "If you cannot find a book on the shelf, we will try our best to get it from other Queens Library locations."

The Queens Library staff invites you to come in from the cold. The library is located at 249-01 Northern Boulevard near the border of Douglaston and Little Neck as well as 61 other great neighborhood locations, including sites in Bayside and Bay Terrace.
