Letter to the Editor: Douglaston Man Comes to the Rescue on Easter

Local resident Victor Mimoni helps a choking man during Easter dinner.

One of Patch's readers from Douglaston has sent a Letter to the Editor on an Easter Sunday incident during which a local resident - and former Patch contributor - came to the rescue of a choking man.

Dear Editor:

I would appreciate it if you would place the following article, “An Easter Thanksgiving,” in Bayside Douglaston Patch:

Some people would truly like to give thanks to a special person for saving a life on Easter Sunday.

While at the Rehren-Bart house having a sumptuous feast of turkey, leg of lamb, sweet potatoes and more, Joe Tully began choking on a piece of turkey.

All at the dinner table panicked as they saw Tully turn red to blue to not breathing until one quick thinking guest jumped to his feet to the rescue and gave Tully a few Heimlich maneuvers.

Out popped the food Tully was choking on. That one special guest was Victor Mimoni.

Victor, Tully truly thanks you for saving his live as well as everyone else at the dinner table. Easter at the Rehren-Bart house was truly a day to celebrate, thanks to Victor.

Sincerely,

Bill Bart
