June 14: 5 Things You Need to Know Today

Weiner-rehab, poetry, knitting and more.

'Morning, Little Neck. It's Tuesday! Are you ready?

1. Followers of Weinergate wait with bated breath to see if the disgraced U.S representative will step down from his position at the House. The Huffington Post reports that Weiner was granted a two-week leave of absence in order to seek treatment for his, er, problem. Do we really have to endure two weeks without a single Weiner pun? I certainly hope not.

2. A large swath of will continue to be ripped apart today. Though the street remains open, there's no shortage of loose gravel, so if you thought you'd take your new Lambo for a spin around the neighborhood, it might behoove you to find a different street to cruise.

4. Do you knit? Do you want to knit? A knitting group gathers on Monday around 6:30 p.m. at in Little Neck. Just bring your knitting needles and join the party. And never fear if you have the supplies but lack the skills - an experienced knitter will gladly show you the ropes.
