June 13: Monday, Monday

Five things you need to know on this lazy June day.

Good morning - again! Here are five bits of info to start your Monday off right:

1. Little Neck Patch has a new editor. Read a bit about me, Lauren Evans, .

2. After a weekend of generally crummy weather, today is shaping up to be at least a tad sunnier. The high is expected to be 75 degrees, which seems somehow fitting for a Monday.

3. Despite reports that he's entering rehab, a mightily embarrassed U.S. Rep. Anthony Weiner continues to face pressure to step down. He'll be taking a brief leave of absence from the House to seek treatment, the exact nature of which is unknown. We can only assume that it will include a session called "How Not to Send Inappropriate Photos Over a Social Network."

4. Need to catch up on last week's Little Neck news? Check out the Week in Review.

5. If you're in the habit of using your cellphone, iPad or, heaven forbid, your laptop while driving, you probably ought to put them away. Gov. Andrew Cuomo is introducing legislation that adds some serious consequences for distracted driving - in addition to, you know, the high risk of causing an accident. We'll have more information coming at you later today.
