1. In case you haven't noticed (and for your sake, I hope you haven't) it is REALLY REALLY HOT outside. Conditions won't improve much today, or even for the rest of the week. Stay inside. Stay hydrated. 

2. Gov. Andrew Cuomo signed into law last week a bill introduced by state Assemblyman Edward Braunstein, D-Bayside, that would ban the sale of “fake bath salts,” which can be used as recreational drugs. Read more about it  

3. Rapper and actor Ja Rule was sentenced to two years in prison for failing to file his tax returns, the Huffington Post reports
