Happy long-weekend, Little Neck! Here are five things you need to know before heading off to the beach, BBQ or whatever relaxing Independence Day plans you doubtlessly have:

1. If you do happen to be without 4th of July plans, consider consulting our weekend planner.

2. Good news, book lovers! The Queens Public Library System is safe, at least for now, after legislators agreed to restore funding that was originally slated for the chopping block.

4. Fun fact of the day: It's now perfectly legal to carry a concealed weapon into a bar in Ohio, according to an article in the Huffington Post. A quote: "Opponents of the laws had said that mixing guns and alcohol would endanger public safety. Supports argued that the laws bring Ohio into line with other states that have concealed carry rules."
