With schools open and city buses running, life in Little Neck returns to (almost) normal

Thank Heavens for small miracles.

As Little Neck residents wake up this morning, they will find no new snow on the ground. And as an added bonus, parents will yet again be able to pack their children off to school.

Yes, even after the in the history of New York City, life goes on for winter-weary residents.

And Little Neck Patch's mission of keeping our community informed continues:

1. Alternate side parking has been suspended due to snow removal.

2. Be careful on your way to work today. The Little Neck-Douglaston Ambulance Corps and the National Weather Service issued this advisory about possible freezing overnight of melting snow and ice on area walkways and roadways.

3. Garbage and recycling collections are suspended citywide until further notice. Residents may place properly packaged refuse and recyclables out according to their normal schedule, although there will be delays in collection service.

4. Look out for our first edition of Patch Pets, featuring a local animal in search of a loving home each week, later today.
