Jan. 21: Digging Out, Redux

Alternate side parking suspended, help for hoarders and plenty of high school sports

Good morning, Little Neck! As of 5:30 a.m., there is about two inches of snow on the ground. Which is to say, not much at all considering the significant snow events to occur so far this winter.

So to prepare our readers for the day ahead as they begin to dig out from this latest non-catastrophic, yet-still-incovenient storm, here are our 5 Things for this Friday:

1. Alternate side parking rules are suspended today for snow removal. Parking meter rules are in effect.

2. Later today, check out our local high school basketball coverage including last night's Bayside girls contest with Hillcrest and the Cardozo boys battling with Campus Magnet.

3. In case you missed it: the Cardozo girls track team, spurred on by senior Chamique Francis, is for the new season.

4. For parents looking to enroll Kindergarteners for the 2011-12 school year, registration continues . Also, you can visit your zoned school and other schools where your child is eligible for admission. Remember to bring your child's passport or birth certificate and proof of residence.

5. Many of us have seen the destructive power of clutter on A&E's hit reality TV show, "Hoarders." For those seeing more than a little bit of themselves — or someone they love — in the series, Clutterers Anonymous at Community Reformed Church in Manhasset might be a ticket to healing. This week's meeting .
