Hot Buttered Spiced Apple Cider

A special holiday drink that's just right for Thanksgiving.

Servings: 6-8

Time to Make: 20 minutes

Ingredients:

Half gallon of all natural apple cider
1 stick of unsalted butter, softened
2 cups of maple syrup
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Pinch of ground cloves
Pinch of salt

Optional:
Bottle of dark rum

Directions:
1. Bring cider and maple syrup to a boil then lower heat and let simmer.
2. Mash spices up with one stick of butter
3. Add butter-spice mix to the simmering cider
4. Allow butter to melt fully into cider
5. Ladle cider into your mugs
6. Toss a few pieces of sliced apple into each mug
7. Garnish mug with whip cream, powdered cinnamon, sliced apple and cinnamon sticks

NOTE: For an extra kick, add 2 shots of rum to the bottom of each mug before pouring in the cider.
