The 25th Annual two-day Shark Tournament will kick off at 6 a.m. at the Star Island Yacht Club and Marina, 59 Star Island Road in Montauk, on Friday. The fee is $800 per boat.

Muskets and Militia

The East Hampton Historical Society is hosting a re-enactment of an encampment by the 3rd New York Regiment Brigade of the American Revolution at Mulford Farm, 10 James Lane in East Hampton, on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is free.

Robert Lipsyte Book Signing

BookHampton, 41 Main Street, East Hampton, will welcome Robert Lipsyte to sign his book, An Accidental Sportswriter, on Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. The event is free.

Fran Drescher's Cancer Benefit

Actress Fran Drescher will host a Cancer Schmancer benefit on Sunday at the East Hampton Studio, 77 Industrial Road in Wainscott, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will feature family-fun activities.

Southampton

Marking its 25th year, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons garden tour will take place Saturday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., featuring six gardens in Bridgehampton and Sagaponack. The tour will honor Howard Purcell, “a gentle genius when it came to gardens," according to ARF Executive Director Sara Davison. He was one of the founders of the garden tour fundraiser. The self-guided tour will include a cocktail reception at the home of Joanne and Henry Breyer in East Hampton.

This year's tour features:

  • Susan and Stan Reifer's garden designed by Chinese artist Jian Guo Xu
  • Karen and Herb Friedman's garden design by Jack deLashmet & Associates
  • Cynthia and Edwin Hamowy's Oehme Van Sweden garden
  • Diane and Craig Solomon's garden
  • Jody and Larry Carlson's garden
  • Domna Stanton's garden

Tour passes are $75.

 hosts a strawberry festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. It is a celebration of Native American heritage and traditional summer foods in a free outdoor event. There will be a traditional dance and canoe-making demonstrations. There will also be an Arts and Crafts Bazaar, featuring Shinnecock and Native American-made jewelry, art, clothing, beadwork and other pieces, and "Taste of Shinnecock" food sale, including Shinnecock oysters and Indian tacos, fry bread, corn on the cob and strawberry shortcake. Museum entry to see "A Walk with the People" is $5 for adults, $3 for children 5 to 12 and free for those under 5. 

The Southampton Rose Society hosts “Rose Day” at the  grounds in Southampton Village, including a rose show and artwork/photography contest. Viewing is from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and free.

  

BookHampton in Southampton Village welcomes author and critic Jeffrey Lyons to read from and sign his book "Stories My Father Told Me" between 3 and 4 p.m. Saturday. Lyons grew up in a home visited by many of the greats of his father’s time. His 40-year career continues in television, radio and print. A movie critic and baseball book author, Lyons has acted in two films, reviewed more than 15,000 movies and hundreds of Broadway plays, broadcast baseball for the Red Sox, and interviewed virtually every major star of his own time. Lyons co-hosted three national movie review shows: Sneak Previews, MSNBC's At the Movies, and Reel Talk. Lyons is also the co-author of “101 Great Movies for Kids” and three baseball trivia books.    

Bock Art Limited at 16 Hill St in Southampton Village will have a Gala Grand Opening Reception at 4 p.m. Saturday.

Photographer Val Schaffner will exhibit photographs of Korea in "Temple & Sky" at  in Sag Harbor. Schaffner and his wife, Min-Min, used to run the Nabi Gallery in Sag Harbor. A reception will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday. The exhibition is on display June 17 to July 18.

Grammy-nominated jazz pianist and vocalist Judy Carmichael returns to  in Sag Harbor with a lively evening of jazz, stride and swing. Appearing with her will be Chris Flory on guitar and Harry Allen on tenor saxophone. Carmichael was nicknamed “Stride” by Count Basie, acknowledging her mastery of this technically and physically demanding jazz-piano style. The performance benefits the Community House Fund. $60 (premium seating, preconcert cocktail party); $25 general admission; $20 senior/student. Chamber Music for Children

The  is hosting a performance of the award-winning string quartet Voxare at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The event is free.

See the Indigo Girls in Concert 

The Grammy Award winning Indigo Girls will be performing at the , 76 Main Street in Westhampton Beach, on Saturday night at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $55 to $85.

North Fork

Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival

Always a popular attraction for local and visiting kids and families, the 56th annual Mattituck Lions Club Strawberry Festival begins with a strawberry hulling session from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday with limited carnival hours on the grounds of Strawberry Field in Mattituck during the evening. On Friday, carnival rides will be open from 5 until 11 p.m. with strawberry drinks and treats of all types available for refreshments.Then the fun kicks into full gear on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., when both carnival rides and craft vendors will be open, the Strawberry Queen will be crowned and fireworks will light up the night sky. Admission for adults is $5, children 6 to 11 is $2, and the festival is free for children ages 5 and under. Carnival bracelets are $25 each. Fathers get in for free on Sunday, Father's Day, when the festival will be open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Proceeds from the event go to several local nonprofit organizations.
