Hamptons Guide: Rock the Dock, The Wallflowers and Kevin Jonas

Other weekend events include Soldier Ride the Hamptons, a visit from former New York Mets pitcher John Franco and Quogue Wildlife Refuge's gala.

Parties will be steaming up the East End from Montauk to Quogue, Wounded arrios will be riding in Amagansett and Sag Harbor, and a new group of authors hit the Hamptons this weekend to talk about their books.

Montauk

Party: will be held at Navy Beach in Montauk on Saturday from 3 p.m. until sunset. This French-themed party will have by DJ Sammy and local reggae musician Winstion Irie. French-themed cocktails will be served and Calypso St. Barth will be on-hand with a pop-up shop of beachwear and accessories. A 1950s-style swimsuit contest will be held and the winner will get dinner for two at Navy Beach that features a chef's tasting menu and a bottle of champagne. Lunch and dinner menus will be offered during the party and reservations can be made by calling 631-668-6868. Reservations can be made for select waterfront daybeds for a $300 minimum for time slots of 12 to 4 p.m. or 4 to 8 p.m.

Amagansett

Soldier Ride and 5K Event: is being held in honor of Lance Corporal Jordan C. Haerter and part of the Wounded Warrior Project.  You can ride 30 or 60 miles on bike or walk, jog or run in one of two 5Ks that will take place in Amagansett and Sag Harbor. A picnic will be held at Ocean View Farm on Saturday from 12 to 4 p.m. for all registrants. Registration is $25 for the Amagansett or Sag Harbor walk, $25 for 21 years and under and $50 for 22 years and older. The walk begins at 9 a.m. at 551 Montauk Highway. Music: will wrap up Soldier Ride the Hamptons 2012's day of events at Ocean View Farm on Saturday at 6 p.m. Music will be provided by Steel Pulse. Tickets are $125 and can be purchased by calling 1-800-594-8499.

Charity Poker Tournament:  The American Legion Post 419 will host the inaugural to benefit Fighting Chance, a free cancer counseling center located in Sag Harbor. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the Texas Hold 'Em tournament begins at 8 p.m. The cost of $300 per person includes a light dinner, open bar, a presentation by Fighting Chance and the poker tournament. East Hampton

Author Talk: , of Brandeis University, will speak during Shabbat services at the Jewish Center of the Hamptons on Saturday at 10 a.m. Lawrence is author of "Punishing Hate: Bias Crimes Under American Law" one of the nation's experts on civil rights, free expression and bias crimes. Benefit: is a fundraiser with proceeds to benefit The Max Cure Foundation, an organization that raises money to fight pediatric cancer, and Fundacion Amistad. Former New York Mets pitcher John Franco and his wife, Rose, and Chris Wragge, WCBS-TV News at 6 anchor, are honorary chair members of the evening. This family-friendly evening will include performances from the Big Apple Circus, a BBQ dinner and cocktails with fireworks provided by The Clamshell Foundation. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and tickets for adults 30 and under begin at $125. Kids, 13 and under, are $50.

Fireworks: The Clamshell Foundation is hosting their 32nd Annual with fireworks by Grucci over Three Mile Harbor in East Hampton at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday night. A viewing party will be held at Harbor Bistro and Andra, but other viewing locations include Maidstone Park and Sammy's Beach.

Theater: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents a staged reading of the romantic comedy by Matt Hoverman on Friday at 8 p.m. The evening's show stars John Ratzenberger ("Cheers"), Jean Smart ("Designing Women", "24"), Richard Benjamin and Aya Cash. Tickets are $30 and $28 and can be purchased by calling 631-324-0806.

Film: The John Drew Theater at Guild Hall presents its second film of the hosted by Alec Baldwin on Saturday at 8 p.m. "Detropia," which was made by filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, takes a look at the city of Detroit and its fall from grace. A talkback will follow the screening with Baldwin and the directors. Tickets are $22 and $20 and can be purchased by calling 631-324-0806.

Wainscott

Gala: St. Barth The Hamptons will host its presented by Social Life Magazine and Rand Luxury at East Hampton Studios in Wainscott on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. The evening will celebrate the Social Life Magazine cover featuring Kevin Jonas, of the Jonas Brothers, and Danielle Jonas, as well as VH1's Save the Music Foundation. The gala will include a four-hour open bar, fashion show and live performing artists. Entertainers Jared Evan, Every Empire and Celebrity DJ John Hamilton will provide the music. A portion of the night's proceeds will benefit VH1's Save the Music Foundation. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased by calling 212-725-1860.

Sagaponack

Wine and Music: Wolffer Estate Vineyard is hosting this summer at the Wine Stand on Montauk Highway from 5 p.m. until sunset every Friday and from 5:30 p.m. till sunset every Saturday. Live music will play until the sun sets. Wine is served by the bottle and glass with cheese and charcuterie plates available for purchase. For more information, call 631-537-5106, ext. 25.

Bridgehampton

Outdoor Movie: "Bringing Up Baby" will screen outdoors at Silas Marder  Gallery in Bridgehampton on Friday at 9 p.m. The film is part of a summer series known as , which is presented in partnership with the Hamptons International Film Festival. All films are free and you may bring beach chairs, blankets and a picnic.

Family: The Children Museum of the East End will put on its fourth annual on Saturday and this year's theme is "CMEE in the Great Outdoors," which includes an array of nature-themed arts and crafts, water slides, entertainment, games music and food. Honorary chair members Naomi Watts, Liev Schreiber, Mariska Hargitay, Peter Hermann, Alexandra Wentworth, George Stephanopoulos and Mark Feuerstein will join the fun. Entertainment includes 8-year-old DJ Fulano, a rock climbing wall, a scavenger hunt, waterslides, lagoon boat races, an archeological dig, birdhouse painting, tent pitching lessons and a "touch tank" courtesy of the The Long Island Science Center. The fair takes place Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at in Bridgehampton. Tickets for children are $100 in advance and $125 at the door. For adults, the price is $150 in advance and $175 at the door.

Sag Harbor

Theater:  Bay Street Theatre continues its revival of Directed by Harris Yulin and written by Joe Pintauro, the play is based on the book by Peter Matthiessen. The story concerns struggling fishermen on the East End who were forced to launch war against the government as well as the effects of the economic changes in the Hamptons. This play was the inaugural production at Bay Street Theatre in 1992 and, 20 years later, local fishermen are still fighting for their survival. Tickets are $55 and $66. Weekend performances run Friday and Saturday at 4 and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 7 p.m.

Benefit: , Bay Street Theatre's biggest benefit of the year will be held on Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at Long Wharf in Sag Harbor. The evening's gala benefits the theater's summer Mainstage productions, education programs, internships and classes for kids. According to artistic director Murphy Davis, the fundraiser is the biggest party of the summer. Single tickets are available as well as tables for 10. This year's event will include a performance by Tony Award Winner Lillias White, who will star as Maybelle Smith in the theater’s upcoming premiere of "Big Maybelle: Soul of the Blues." Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. A live "fantasy" auction will include giveaways such as a week-long trip to St. Barts and a "meet and greet" with NBC's Kathie Lee and Hoda, of the "Today Show." Bay Street will also raffle off a chance to win a 2012 Mini Cooper Convertible or $18,000 cash. Tickets are $550 for single ticket table dining, $5,500 for a table of 10, $10,000 for a VIP table of 10, $3,850 for a lounge. Southampton

Benefit: The Southampton Animal Shelter will host its annual on Saturday from 7 to 11 p.m. at the private Southampton waterfront home of Sandra McConnell. Jane Hansen from NBC 4's "New York Live" will emcee the event. This year, NBC 4 news anchor Chuck Scarborough and his wife, Ellen, will be honored for their support for animals in need of homes. Westhampton Beach

Author Talk: New York Times bestselling author will be at Books & Books on Friday in Westhampton Beach at 7 p.m. to introduce her latest work, "Night Watch." Admission is free. For more information, call 631-998-3260.

Music: will be at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Sunday at 8:30 p.m. The band, which comes to town with their Back In Full Bloom tour, and are known for the hit song "One Headlight." Tickets are $125, $115 and $95 and can be purchased by calling 631-288-1500.

Author Talk: Author will be at Books & Books in Westhampton Beach on Saturday at 3 p.m. to discuss his historical thriller, "Istanbul Passage." Kanon is the author of five previous novels, including "The Good German."  Admission to this event is free. For more information, call 631-998-3260.

Music: The , a Beatles cover band, will perform two shows at the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center on Saturday at 7:30 and 10 p.m. Tickets are $85, $70 and $55 and can be purchased by calling 631-288-1500.

Author talk: Author and journalist will be at Books & Books in Westhampton Beach on Sunday at 3 p.m. to discuss his memoir, "Newspaperman." Phillips was the managing editor at The Wall Street Journal and publisher/CEO of Dow Jones & Co. In his memoir, he gives a behind the scenes look at the Journal and what it was like to be a reporter while watching history unfold. Admission is free. For more information, call 631-998-3260.

Quogue

Gala: The Quogue Wildlife Refuge will host its on Saturday at 7 to 10 p.m. at the private residence of Nancy Mullan and John Demirjian. The evening will include live music by The Hackensack Men and The Trenton Horns. Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres will be served. Wine will be provided by Martha Clara Vineyards and beer will be served by Southampton Publick House. The night will feature live and silent auctions as well as raffles. Attendees will have an opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the refuge's resident animals, some of which are seriously injured and require human care. The Refuge also serves as an educational nature center that is open year-round to the public. Reservation donations begin at $150 per person. For more information, call 631-653-4771.

Author Talk: Author will drop by the Quogue Library on Sunday at 5 p.m. to discuss his book "Enemies: A History of the FBI." Weiner is a Pulitzer Prize winner for his writing on American national security. He was a correspondent for The New York Times and reported on war and terrorism from Afghanistan and Pakistan.
